If a cop sees you get caught by a red light camera, will he ticket you for the violation?
I’ve wondered this since red light cameras went up in my area. If a cop sees you blow the light, and sees the camera get you, will he still pull you over and ticket you? And if so, what happens to the ticket from the camera?
From the answers so far I don’t think I made the question clear. If the camera gets you, AND the cop tickets you too, will you wind up with two tickets for the same offense? Or is there some sort of override where the camera ticket is knocked out of the list when the cop’s ticket is processed?
He probably will. If you get a ticket in the mail from the camera, you can mail back proof that you were pulled over by a police officer for that same violation and already issued a ticket, and that ticket will be thrown out.
