Car Cable
Son of small frame on cable negative battery cable is not connected to the chassis. Is this correct?

I installed a battery car. The negative cable took the lead and a small wire running to a bolt on the chassis. Carnation for the small broken wire. I even hooked up the positive and negative battery terminal and everything works. Does the small wire battery ground wire? Is it safe to leave this little arm over until I can get a new cable?

It offers a better field for the frame, I take the negative cable is bolted to the engine block which is bolted to the chassis. Basically, it is redundant. Sort of makes the engine rubber mounts. If everything still works I do not worry. EDIT Sayers I tell you, my pickup 4X4 1984 Toyota has a similar configuration. When replacing the battery cables, I chose to connect the cable to the engine block instead of the wing as originally made. It is still running 12 years later without any problems. Involved a motor, 5 clutches, 3 alternators and a set ring and pinion … but never had any electrical problems beyond the expected wear.
