Is google maps reliable for travelling in europe?
Im going to milan,barcelona, lisbon, paris, berlin, amsterdam & london. please help me!
I have found Google maps to be as reliable as most of the maps you can buy or get for free in the cities. It is not always up to date, but neither are the printed maps.
For countryside roads it is OK, but for bicycle and walking paths it is not detailed enough.
The main inconvenience is that you need to print the maps for each little part. Or need a computer with you at all times.
In most cities you can get free or cheap maps, use those for an overview of the whole city. Often they also have public transport printed on them. But by all means make prints of Google maps for the areas you want a more detailed map, like where your hotel/hostel is and for the area with a museum or sight.
