Garmin eMap GPS unit is good for geocaching?
I have a good GPS for geocaching or not? What are your thoughts? Is not i sorry
Looks like it could possibly be used but it has a number of strikes against it. First precision listed in the specs of Garmin is only about 50 '- is not good. Secondly, there seems to be a serial interface with the computer, so if you have an old computer with a serial port, you will not be able to directly transfer waypoints. There is of course to get around the issue for serial port, but why bother. Finally, as a new hide it would not matter, it will only accept 500. I guess you have either this model or GPS can get one at an extremely attractive price. If I did not already have an eMap, I'd probably spend the extra bucks for something as a low-end eTrex GPS or similar.
