Handheld geocacheing and inexpensive bike.?
My wife bought me a handheld GPS for Christmas. I want to find one that I can use for geocacheing in a rural area and also use to travel on my motorcycle.
Well … I used my car for Garmin Nuvi 255 my first 120 and finds it very well. It is for the car, so it is not robust at all, and it has no electronic compass if you really need to just look at the numbers to be able to tell if you're going in the right direction or not. A kind of pain. A few months ago I is the best investment of my life and I bought a "DELORME PN-40" and used that to find my last 271 caches and LOVE IT!. It is comparable to "Garmin 60CSx (which is the preferred geocachers Handheld )….. but much better! It has everything that the 60CSx has more. It is what WAAS makes 5 times more accurate than anything that is not WAAS. The integrated compass is great, and it has built in GeoCaching feature where you can select a cache and go directly to it on a map just follow ….. the direction of the arrow. This screen also tells you how many meters you are from the cache. Buy …. you do not regret it AT ALL!
