I want to be a pilot, but if I do not as a pilot, I want to be an air traffic controller. Help please?
Hi, my ambition in life is to become a pilot but if I do not quite do as a pilot, I really want to be involved in aviation in some way, preferably as an air traffic controller. What are the qualifications and other settings you to do to be able to be an air traffic controller. Thank you
Hey, I'm in the same situation. The FAA currently a program for new ATC workers, and they'll hire you if you are under 31. The College of Aeronautics, where I'll go in the spring, there is a 2-year program for the ATC, but I'm not sure if you are able to do both aircraft operations and ATC programs simultaneously. It would be useful, although since most drivers have to weigh the possibility of getting laid off or temporarily F *** ed over. In addition, there is a lot of security hoops you have to jump through as background checks to get hired as an air traffic controller, but it is probably less of a pain that all the necessary qualifications to fly as a pilot. Also, if you're concerned about money, air traffic controllers can be up to twice as much as the drivers and do not need to spend tens of thousands of dollars on licenses in the notes. http://www.faa.gov/airports_airtraffic/air_traffic/controller_staffing/ http://www.vaughn.edu/aviation_atc.php Take a look at these two links. Where do you live on the road? If this is not the United States, these links are likely to be useless, unless you intend to move here.
