converting a 12v cig lighter charger rapid charger 120V DC wall?
I need to know that the transformer must be mA, it is a charger rc boat who is in charge a 1100mA battery in about 30 to 45 minutes out of a lighter in a car cig. I have a few processors old lying. the largest being a 12 V 1.25mA will it be enough or will I run to RadioShack?
It is the scariest question I seen posted here! (Probably just the way you wrote it) I guess you have a 12V battery or less? I rely on you choose the right voltage output – just do not put a charger on a battery 12V 6V. your spare transformer (mentioned) will only put a "trickle charge" – Which is good if you have approximately 1100/1.25 = 880 hours in advance. The choice is yours – for a "night" fees (10 hours) you will need 150mA. Maths is quite simple – assume 75% efficiency – so for a battery of 1100mAh, you need to pump in around 1500mAh – or 1.5Ah. You can do this quickly (3A 30 minutes) or slow (150mA for 10 hours) or something in between. Your car charger is probably a high current (the battery is hot) – the chargers home are best placed on a timer so they go high current (for security reasons) – or go for a lower current safe, where the slightest heat created will not cook the battery if overloaded. Any modellers R / C in your area should be able to offer such advice.
