TomTom RDS-TMC?
I have a tomtom one 125 and I was looking into getting a receiver RDS-TMC traffic, I would like to know if I receive a site will it work with my GPS unit instantly, or do I need to get additional traffic service on top of already buying the receiver?
yes, buying the receiver is sufficient to obtain traffic information, forever. the RDS-TMC is nothing as a radio antenna with a receiver (small) dedicated to integrated radio RDS-TMC (data only, no noise). Contrary to what is standing on some websites (eg the tropics, not to name any names …) RDS-TMC is free because it is sending on the radio at any time, free for anyone (who has a receiver) to decode and see, in fact, RDS (Radio Data Signal) is what shows station and song name on the screen of the radio; TMC (Traffic Message Channel) is simply a particular sub-channel RDS radio with the release of normal.
