IPhone GPS App – Driving in Costa Rica Just Got Easier
iGO My way has introduced the first iPhone GPS navigation application for Costa Rica, one of the world’s most popular beach vacation destinations. If you have ever traveled through Costa Rica then you are already aware that addresses here are a little different compared to the rest of the world, where street names and building numbers are few and far between.
Gone are the days of aimlessly navigating the roads of San Jose! Gone are the days of refusing to ask a lone villager in Guanacaste the directions to Playa Conchal in broken Spanish for fear of not understanding the answer. And gone are the days of marital disputes with your spouse who refuses to ask for directions in Costa Rica because he knows exactly where he’s going - even though you’ve passed the same tree and lone cow in a field three times! iGO Costa Rica promises to be the answer to all of our navigational dilemmas in this paradise country.
This innovative iPhone GPS app does not operate on a regular GPS system but rather uses a POI guidance system that refers to over 34,000 Points of Interest in 43 categories such as churches, hospitals, hotels and other notable places en route and around the area of your vacation destination in Costa Rica.
The new iGO My way Costa Rica edition features English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian as user interface languages, making it ideal for residents and travelers driving in Costa Rica. The iGO My way GPS app for iPhone has been available in Apple’s App Store since August 2009 and it brings a “trendy and entertaining navigation solution” to iPhone users.
The iGO My way Costa Rica edition uses Costa Rica maps from local location expert NAVSAT. Since 2006, NAVSAT has been working on bringing their Costa Rica map to perfection, primarily to create high quality and reliable routing for the tourist industry. Under the Navigator brand, NAVSAT also supplies PND devices based on iGO Navigation with integrated RDS-TMC traffic information. Costa Rica is one of only three countries in Latin America where traffic service is delivered. NAVSAT will also offer traffic services in other South American countries in the near future.
