Is handheld GPS allows you to enter the latitude and longitude? Or otherwise it shows the latitude and longitude on the screen. I want to buy a Garmin eTrex H to find the corners of my land. Thank you in advance the community.
All units not allow pocket. H with the name of the family Garmin eTrex, you should be able to get within 10 feet (assuming it is not under heavy tree cover or a cave). To get it, you should enable the WAAS GPS. That's about as good as GPS any normal (and better than the one that does not include WAAS) will get. You can improve reading, keeping the GPS point for a longer series of readings and their average. At least part of the family eTrex can average the signals over time to improve reading. You can download the specifications and the manual out of the site to see if Garmin eTrex H does. For best reading (several centimeters), you can borrow / rent a unit with a receiver DGPS. DGPS uses a base station at a precisely known position to receive satellite signals in your area and measure the errors (due to variations in the atmosphere) and send corrections to the GPS in use. WAAS DGPS is a federal system that the average differences and the country is not as accurate the local system DGPS.

I have a Garmin eTrex Vista. It came with a serial cable, but my laptop has only USB. Can I get a USB cable?
By default Vista ships Extrex with only an RS 232 (serial) data cable but a USB-serial adapter (Reference: 010-10310-00) is available.It nut costs $ 59.99, you may be able to take a one Ebay for less. Hope this helps
