If I get an AC to DC inverter for my car, how many watts can withstand light my vehicle?

I seek to get a power converter which has 400 watts continuous and 1000 watts surge cons. How many watts can my vehicle lighter socket resist? So what does "nominal capacity" reference?

You mean I to alternating current. I have 400 watt inverters for a large platform. The label inverter tell you what you can with power. My battery has a reserve of 100 minutes in it. It is new and I do not want use for more than two hours without starting the engine.
